DUATHLON RESULTS: UPDATE and MORE POINTS!
07-12-2009
After last week's cold and wet duathlon we've reviewed the points scoring system. This translates into more points for everyone, and now it really is worthwhile to struggle out into the elements to pick up your points. The placings in the individual events haven't changed; but some placings in the League standings have changed, because just finishing each event brings you 5 points.
Last week's Duathlon took place in the cold and wet, with a biting wind.... Some participants thought quietly as they looked at their points on the board 'I might as well have stayed in bed...' With the points running from 25 points for first down to 1 point for the 25th finisher this was absolutely true for those finishing 26th and beyond. But not any more! In line with our policy of continuous development and improvement, we have devised a modified points system which will give every finisher some points and reward those regularly take part. The first finisher now gets 30 points, the second gets 29... down to 25th who gets 6 points. But from 26th place onwards, all finishers get 5 points. Take part in all 5 events in the Winter Series and you'll pick up 25 points just for finishing - and on days like last Sunday, you'll have well deserved your reward! The extra points don't affect individual events, but they do affect the League standings. Go to the Results page to download the adjusted scores, now in pdf format. http://www.durhamtri.org/index.php?p=1_27_Duathlon-results-and-reports
