A DAY IN THE LAKES

19-06-2012
Konstantin's doing it for Charity....
One of our most popular members, Konstantin Visegradi, is doing the Day in the Lakes Triathlon this weekend and hoping to raise some cash for a charity called Child Care Action Trust.
This half-ironman event is billed as 'possibly the most challenging course in the country' - the swim will be in refreshing crystal clear Ullswater [Helvellyn competitors will know what I mean!]. The bike is one loop taking in the Kirkstone Pass (from Patterdale) and Shap Fell. The run  is mix of road, track and fell along the base of Barton Fell taking in Howtown, Fusedale and Martindale. Competitors have to carry a map and compass in case of inclement weather
Konstantin's Charity is the
Child Care Action Trust. which has been providing Conductive Education for children living in County Durham, Tyne&Wear, Redcar, Cleveland and North Yorkshire since November 2005.
The charity now operates at its Conductive Education Centre at Darlington in County Durham to teach children with cerebral palsy and other 'motor' realated disorders how to cope with everyday life through meaningful activities and group dynamics. Conductive Education based on the Hungarian 'Peto' System of Rehabilitation and Education for children and adults with motor disorder and any condition when the demage of the central nervous system affects the ability to coordinate and control movements.

If you'd like to support Konstantin, he's set up a fundraising web page HERE
If you'd like to know more about the Child Care Action Trust, details are HERE

Anyone can donate through his web-page until the middle of July, but don't let that stop you doing it now!
