Hi All!

I've a friend who is keen to switch from the mountain bike to the roadie and as such would be interested in buying a second hand one to start off with. If anyone is interested in selling one of their 'stock' then please let me know.
A 'large' frame is probably appropriate as she has 34'' legs (lucky so and so!) but a relatively short body (her words not mine!!).

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Hi guys,

Some of you may already be familiar with these events however thought I'd pass them onto 'just in case'.

Neil and I attended a number of the events earlier this year as did a number of other DTC members - we found them to be really well organised (and great training for distance events).

Here's the dates for next year:

Coniston: 29th May 2011
Derwent Water: 19th June 2011
Ullswater: 10th July 2011

For more information visit: www.epicevents.org
Regards

Hi All,

I'm circulating a message on behalf of a lady we know called Hilary. Hilary has a friend with an autistic child (late teens from memory but may be older) and would like to find someone who'd be willing to instruct him in the swimming pool each week for an hour at a time. It would just be a case of telling him (i) how many lengths of 'x' stroke to complete (ii) when to rest (iii) when to get out etc. This lady is willing to pay someone for their time.

If anyone is interested or has any questions please let me know (corrina@platinumppt.co.uk) and I will forward the appropriate contact details.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers

The Lodge, which is near to the turning to Bearpark at 9am.

Go for it Hilary & good luck you can do it.

... just a little note to say a BIG thank you to Ellen-Ann, Ian, Alastair and Jess for hosting yet another super BBQ for the club. I think all those who attended would agree that it was a fun afternoon catching up with everyone - great turn out too :)

Awards should go to the kids for getting their cosies on and having a good time on that water slide... It's a shame Neil and I had to leave before Stephen gave us a few salsa lessons (or perhaps you all joined in with the kids on the slide) hehe

Thanks again guys - A lot of hard work, time and effort goes into organising such an event albeit a 'social' one however I'm sure we are not the only ones to appreciate it :)

See you soon!
I'll leave the last word to Rudyard who was clearly writing in the days before Tri (and female competitors) but you get the gist:

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

Hi all

Does anyone from Durham City do the parkruns - the free 5k races every Saturday? I was looking into them - I believe our closest ones are Newcastle and Sunderland and wondered what people thought of them? Whether it was worth it? Considering trialling the Sunderland one tomorrow - combine it with a nice cycle there and back!

Hi All,

We've another 'victim' (hah) who'd like to give triathlons ago. Before he makes the investment, he'd like to hire/borrow a wetsuit to see how he gets on. Anyone have any recommendations for hiring?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hi y'all...

I feel like I'm in competition with Liz's Sunday club ride by sending this! Let me stress, from my point of view, there is NO comparison... it's the road bike 'hands down' however, when needs must... the mountain bike makes an appearance!

Anyway, a few of us are meeting at Coxhoe Leisure Centre to start the ride at 09.30 on Sunday.

I'm armed with a map this weekend so will be picking a route west of Durham if anyone would like to join us.

Do get in touch if you are keen:
M: 07734678850

Or you can just turn up -[but then you risk bring a solo rider if weather is bad and we decide to cancel].

Have a great weekend!
